Warden and CEO

Founded in 1872, Trinity College is the oldest residential college of the University of Melbourne and a vibrant academic community of 2,000 students, 260 staff and 30,000 alumni from across Australia and around the world. Following the successful tenure of Professor Ken Hinchcliff, Trinity College is now seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its next Warden and Chief Executive Officer.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a world-class institution that combines academic excellence, cultural richness, and a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion. Trinity has three important divisions. The Residential College, which is a dynamic home for undergraduate students at the University of Melbourne, known for its academic excellence, leadership development, and inclusive community life. The Pathways School is home to the renowned Trinity College Foundation Studies Program, preparing international students for entry into the University of Melbourne and other leading universities. The Theological School is a College of the University of Divinity, offering theological education and formation for Anglican ministry and lay leadership.

We are seeking a leader of intellectual distinction who can enhance the College’s reputation as a place that encourages discussion and debate in the interest of contributing to wider society.

With proven experience managing complex organisations, you will bring commercial acumen, integrity, and a passion for education, along with a deep appreciation of Trinity’s Anglican heritage and values. The candidate must inspire excellence across a balanced, all-round education that includes both ‘breadth’ and ‘depth’ of content, together with the development of ethical values, personal integrity, leadership and social responsibility.

As Warden and CEO, you will:

- provide visionary leadership and strategic direction across all facets of the College

- represet Trinity with distinction in national and international forums

- foster strong relationships with the University of Melbourne, the University of Divinity, alumni, donors, and the wider community

- champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to Indigenous engagement and international education.

Trinity College celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with lived experience of disability and people who identify as LGBTI.
