About the Role
The Psychology subject is an elective component of the programme, designed to introduce students to a broad range of psychological theories and principles that aim to explain human behaviour, as well as the diversity of human experience in different situations and environments.
Reporting to the Subject Leader of Psychology, the Psychology Lecturer and Tutor position will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the curriculum, including lectures and tutorials, focusing on topics such as scientific theory and critical thinking, the biology of the mind, child development, adolescence and adulthood, learning, intelligence, personality, social psychology, psychological disorders, therapy, and stress and health.
Additionally, the role involves the preparation and administration of assessments, including marking student essays, presentations, and exams, as well as writing student reports.
- The Psychology Tutor and Lecturer position is a fixed term, 12-month position commencing early February 2025
- This role will start as a 0.2 Fraction and is always subject to student enrolment. The ideal candidate should be able to increase their fraction, with the potential to rise to 0.5–0.7 FTE later in the year, in response to department needs and enrolment numbers.

This position involves face to face teaching (no option for online teaching).
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- An APAC-accredited tertiary qualification in Psychology.
- At least 2 years of lecturing or tutoring experience in Psychology at Foundation Studies, VCE, or University level.
- Lecturing experience is highly desirable, though tutors with at least 2 years of teaching experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in preparing and delivering lectures and tutorials, including assessment and feedback.
- PhD candidates are encouraged to apply.
Please note: This is not a research position, and applicants should be aware that this is a teaching-focused role.
Salary Range: Level B3 – C1 FTE $86,791 – $95,212 (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
