Founded in 1872 as the first college of the University of Melbourne, Trinity College is a vibrant, diverse community, inspiring and enabling students of exceptional promise from Australia and around the world in its various educational programs, including a Residential College, a Theological School and a Pathways School incorporating Foundation Studies program and the Bachelor of Arts (Extended) Program at the University of Melbourne. The BA (Ext) program is a university course open to Australian Indigenous students at the University of Melbourne that supports their transition to university through the provision of an additional study year.  Students complete a sequence of subjects in the first year of their degree, which provides a strong academic foundation for their studies, grounded in Indigenous sovereignty. At the completion of the Bachelor of Arts (Extended), students move into a standard Bachelor of Arts course structure.

About the role

The BA (Ext) Program Leader is responsible for the day-to-day management of Trinity College’s delivery of BA Ext units, including the recruitment, management and support of teaching staff.  The Program Leader is also responsible for maintaining key relationships with the University of Melbourne and participating in the promotion of best practice teaching within the broader institution through participation in key committees and otherwise. 

To be considered for this role, you must have a recognised tertiary qualification relevant to the role along with demonstrated work experience in Indigenous education.  The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership together with managing curriculum and teaching and learning issues in an educational environment.  The ability to perform teaching duties in an online educational environment is also essential.  If you enjoy managing staff, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and are committed to academic excellence, apply now.

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), 9 months contract position. Days of work to be negotiated with the manager.  Flexibility with working from home and campus is required. 

Salary Range: D3 FTE $106,984 plus 10% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
