About the Role

Foundation Studies is a pre-university course within the Pathways School at Trinity College that qualifies overseas students for entry to the University of Melbourne and other universities.

This teaching position in the Literature department in the Trinity College Foundation Studies program, will prepare and deliver the Literature curriculum in the form of tutorial classes and possibly lectures. The successful candidate will also prepare and administer assessment, correct student assignments and exams, submit student results and attend and participate in staff meetings which include those that monitor the academic performance of students. Lecturers are also expected to be available to students for consultation, mentoring and other duties relating to the subject and the broader program.   

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have a relevant tertiary level qualification in Literature or a closely related field. You must also have demonstrated experience teaching students Literature (or closely related humanities subjects) at an undergraduate university level, or in a Foundations Studies Program.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members to develop curriculum, create teaching materials and perform other duties and responsibilities. 

Contract term:  This is a 12-month fixed term position commencing in January 2025. Work fraction can be varied from 0.6 FTE to 1.0 FTE, subject to student enrolments. 

Salary: Level B3 – C1 FTE $86,791 – $95,212 (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
