About the Role

Reporting into the Dean of Residential College, the College Nurse will provide diagnostic and advisory services dealing with accidents, illnesses, psychological issues and disabilities for students within the Residential College.

You will be responsible for triaging cases, referring students to health professionals, liaising with external counsellors and welfare staff to manage students at risk, monitoring student allergies and illnesses, providing basic health education to students and supporting students with chronic injuries/illnesses. In addition, you will work with the College to promote health and wellbeing, as well as ensure that all resident staff are trained in providing First Aid support.

This is a full-time, 3-month fixed term contract position, commencing ASAP, where the successful incumbent will be required to be present onsite at Trinity College campus in Parkville, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm (weekend work may be required at times). This position offers a possibility of further extension or conversion to ongoing employment.

Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified and registered Nurse and have demonstrated experience in addressing a wide range of presenting medical issues. Ideally, you will have experience working with young adults or in an educational institution. Your ability to listen and communicate effectively, and excellent counselling and interpersonal skills will see you succeed in this role.

The successful candidate will contribute positively and work within a team environment and will have a desire to contribute to the educational vision of the College. You will have a good understanding of and commitment to compliance of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Salary:  Band Level 3 FTE $72,048 plus 10% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
