About the Role
Foundation Studies is a pre-university course within the Pathways School at Trinity College that qualifies overseas students for entry to the University of Melbourne and other universities.
Physics is an elective component of the program where the objective of the subject is to develop the students’ knowledge, skills and understanding of Physics concepts. The course is taught with a high emphasis on mathematical analysis to problem solving. The areas taught are mechanics, electromagnetism, sound and light waves, quantum and nuclear physics.
We are seeking a suitably qualified Casual tutor and laboratory demonstrator to support the Physics department. In addition to delivering tutorials and lab demonstrating, there may be a requirement to mark student examinations and other forms of assessment, be available to students for consultation, report writing, staff meetings and other duties relating to the subject.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this position, you must have a relevant tertiary level qualification and relevant teaching experience at VCE level, a Foundation Studies Program or University Level.
To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated experience in face-to-face course delivery and should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.
Employment Type: This is a casual position commencing mid-August. The number of hours available to the successful candidate is dependent on the need to cover existing classes.
Salary Range: Casual hourly rates as set out for a 'Teacher' in the Educational Services (Post-Secondary) Award 2020.
